Fair trade means | dignity | empowerment | sustainability | opportunity | transparencyMany of our new fair trade companies are large in their impact but smallish in their scope. Fair Trade Winds is a larger one that has done a lot of the legwork for us.Its founders understood the principle of fair trade from early products like coffee and tea, but became curious about how they could bless the world by seeking out lots of other products not made in large exploitative factories but by small, responsible groups that take the well-being of their makers seriously. In time they identified more than 157 small businesses from 50 countries! Still a family business, their joy comes from connecting consumers with the lives and stories of these makers through beautiful, responsible goods. We’re featuring jewelry from their Faire collection, a dynamic marriage of sustainable materials (horn and wood) and bold architecturally-inspired shapes.
