Friendship Heart Gallery: The Picture of Well-Being

Friendship Heart Gallery: The Picture of Well-Being

Soft jade-colored saguaro cacti with creamy blooms reaching into a salmon atmosphere …
Perky daisies against a cobalt sky …
A curious cow getting up close and personal …

You could be in any art gallery, and the prices would be, let us say, sobering. But luckily these images are easy on the wallet and they decorate reusable shopping bags, spiral notebooks, wall art and memo pads. The painters are folks in our community with intellectual disabilities or autism. The Friendship Heart Studio, Lancaster, PA, hosts these adults who have an interest and a gift for artistic expression. Mentors help them with their work and then certain inspired images are used to decorate practical items for home, shopping, or office.

The studio has been befriended and supported by Primitives by Kathy, a Lancaster, PA maker and vendor of many of our home decor items. It’s an ideal collaboration, as Primitives by Kathy has always been a proud sponsor of non-profits enabling those with special needs.

Got a friend who loves geometrics, daisies, peacocks, bicycles? Stop in and you could leave with a cute gift set such as a notebook and small tote that sport matching images. And what’s more, you’ll be supporting a grassroots program to help artists affected by disabilities.

These and many other beautiful, non-profit items in our newly-redesigned Boutique at The Flower & Home Marketplace!
